Done!

April 24, 2008

Done and dusted. London Marathon was amazing ! 3,48 was the time which made me 8107 out of 35000 runners or so… Thanks to all sponsors! See here for official result.

Thanks to my Spanish friend Jesús

February 21, 2008

Jesús, a friend from University, has sponsored Shelter.  Thanks a lot mate!

This week I have felt like its been harder than normal to complete my laps for some  reason…   maybe it was that ski trip on Sunday after the 26 km on Saturday that sort of messed it up. Perhaps I didnt allow my body the rest it needed.

However I ll go for my run this morning before heading off to work.

On track

February 11, 2008

Completed the longest lap so far in my training schedule on Saturday – a 25 km in about 2 hours and 10 min. That equals a steady pace of 11 km an hour.

Shelter just sent me a newsletter outlining their housing advice services. They advise 100000 people every year, many through their network of Housing Aid Centres. Shelter advises on a wide range of housing-related issues, including homelessness, allocations, tenancy law, disrepairs, housing and council tax benefit claims, rent or mortgage arrears, harassment and violence in the home, problems with the landlord, and the prevention of homelessness.

Did you know that Shelter is a leading expert on housing in Britain. Their policy team is constantly developing practical methods to tackle the housing crisis.

New Years Eve – any resolutions?

December 31, 2007

After Great Run 2007 Hyde Park HI -  2007 is soon coming to a close.  Its been a good year for me – I have completed some runs – however just small ones and the 10k Greatrun in Hyde Park being the longest.   I need to step it up for 2008 and the Marathon.      A little scary.

I need to get some proper running shoes as well as setting up some good routines for warming up- stretching as well as knowing when to rest.  Otherwise I ll end up injured and I wont have any fun at the end of April 13th.

Tomorrow. Its the day when it all starts.

On the ferry ….

December 22, 2007

I m on the Newcastle – Stavanger ferry 2 days before Christmas eve…  brilliant they got internet access on this ship so I dont have to waste my time in the shops and bars….

I have done something rather useful: www.justgiving.com/johnbrenne.

Now you can support me and Shelter in a matter of minutes!!
